Infrared camera optris PI 160
The infrared camera optris PI 160 is the basic model of the award-winning optris PI series*. It allows for exact measurements from an object size of 1.5 mm on and is, due to its measurement speed of 120 Hz, perfectly suited for employment in research and development, test stations, and process automation as well as for portable measurement tasks.
The infrared camera’s standard version offers a temperature range from -20°C up to 900°C, which can be optionally expanded to 1500°C. It is available with four alternative optics and the software optris PIX Connect offers video and snapshot recordings, extensive analyses (offline, online) and is equipped with an integrated line scan camera function.

Areas of application for the thermal imager optris PI 160
The infrared camera optris PI 160 is employed whenever temperature measurement of areas is required and single-spot measurement of pyrometers is not sufficient anymore.
Measurement of areas is indispensable in many industries by now: the automotive sector, plastics production, and the solar industry make use of it.
Thus, the IR camera is employed in pre-production runs of automotive exterior parts which require steady surveillance due to a specific temperature range that needs to be ensured. The provided temperature surveillance fundamentally helps reducing shortages in production.
In injection molding processes in the plastics industry, the thermal imager optris PI 160 is employed for temperature measurement during the opening of the casts to perform temperature regulation in possible hotspots or coldspots. In another plastics process, the manufacturing of PET bottles, the injection molding parts are similarly monitored.
The infrared camera detects hotspots during function controls of solar cells, making it indispensable in the solar industry. In the photovoltaic industry, IR cameras provide instant quality control during soldering processes on solar modules.
During function tests of circuit boards, which are installed in virtually every electronic device it ensures permanent monitoring of thermic behavior without influencing the delicate measuring objects. Thus, heating contacts, which point to a defect most of the time, are easily visible.
Thermography software optris PI Connect included
All IR cameras are delivered with the thermography software optris PIX Connect, which has been developed specifically for the extensive documentation and analysis of thermal images. It allows you to analyse temperature data in real time as well as the remote control of your infrared camera. Furthermore, you can setup individual alarm levels for your process and define visual or acustic alarm signals.
Our thermography software is licence free and can easily be adjusted to your requirements.
